What's Going On:

Sabbath November 16, 2024

These are the announcements for the period beginning Saturday November 16th, 2024.

SABBATH SCHOOL

Today (November 16th) at Five Rivers SDA we got to fellowship and spend time with some folks that we had not seen at church for some time. That’s because today was Homecoming Day. We thank all who accepted the invitation to be at church. For those who could not make it but would like to view the service, click the link here.

BENEFIT CONCERT

Praise & Inspiration is a fundraiser concert in aid of tuition expenses for Kyla Dick. It’s on tonight at Daaga Auditorium, UWI. For tickets call Sis. Cidna Alexander or the numbers on the flyer.

FAMILY LIFE

Tomorrow, November 17th we have our Family Life Month, Fun & Family Day. The event begins at 11AM but team tents will be available for decorating from 9AM. Venue for the Family Day is Prime Minister’s Park, 3rd & 5th Streets, Five Rivers.

CHRISTMAS CONCERT

Also on November 17th from 5PM, the Westport SDA primary school presents “The Greatest Gift” from Joseph’s perspective. The concert will be held at the Diego Martin South Community Centre. There’s a blessing in store for all so please, support this event.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS & RELIGIOUS LIBERTY

The PARL department of the FRSDA church presents “The Ultimate Freedom – Signs of the Times” on Saturday Sabbath November 23rd, 2024 at the Five Rivers SDA church, with guest speaker Pr. Terrence Brown. A special AY service follows at 4PM featuring an exciting panel discussion with panelists Pr. Terrence Brown, Sherwin Dick and Dale Scobie. The topic is religious liberty so bring your questions and be a part of the discussion.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

On Sunday November 24th, the Women’s Ministries department hosts a Christmas Cuisine cooking course which runs from 8:00AM to 12:30PM at the kitchen of the FRSDA church. This program specifically targets our newest believers who may be interested in learning how to make vegetarian options e.g. veggie pastelle and veggie fish. There is a very small $50.00 cost which covers all the materials needed for the cooking demos. For more information please contact Sisters Tricia Walker, Tara Morris, Marion Sealy or Ann Regis. You can also call 722-3547 for more information.

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Every month the Community Services department distributes hampers to those vulnerable persons in our community. Once each year, they make an extra special appeal, affording us regular members the opportunity to be involved in a tangible way. This year is no different. Starting today, feel free to collect your market bag from Sister Alexander and her team. The hope is that you will fill these bags with non-perishable food items and return them to the church by December 7th. The hampers created will be distributed during the Christmas season.
